Update on Cable Route

After a discussion late this week with Nate Johnson, of New England AquaVentus and Ocean Renewable Power Company, we would like to pass on the news he shared.  Although no decisions are being made, NEAV is looking with renewed focus at the viability of bringing the sub sea cable from the test site ashore in Port Clyde.  If the sub sea cable is landed in Port Clyde, NEAV would make use of the existing charted cable way that used to bring the phone line to Monhegan.  Nate met with town officials in Port Clyde and is in the process of talking to Port Clyde’s fishermen.  As we gain more information we will pass it on to the community.
